How long does laser eye surgery take to recover?

How long does laser eye surgery take to recover? That really depends on what type of laser eye surgery you have.

Patients who have LASIK or SMILE recover very quickly. They are able to see usually about 20/20 the next day. And, in fact, can even return to work the next day.

Patients who have PRK technique, however, take four or five days before the vision recovers sufficiently well to drive a car and returned to work. Thereafter, the vision recovers gradually and over a period of the next six months.

LASIK and SMILE patients improve incrementally, maybe for up to another three months.

If you’ve been thinking about improving your vision, now’s the time to do something about it.
