Dr Dunne is a NZ trained Doctor and completed his MBChB in 2011 with the University of Otago.

As part of his ophthalmology specialty training, Dr Dunne gained valuable experience in major centres such as Auckland and Wellington, with a final two years undertaking Medical Retina advanced training based at the Greenlane Eye Clinic in Auckland. Subsequently he was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (FRANZCO) in 2023.

Currently Dr Dunne practices as a consultant with both Eye Institute as well as in public at the Manukau Superclinic Ophthalmology clinic. Here he also is involved with overseeing Diabetic Retinopathy screening services for the Counties Manukau District.

Cataract Surgery

Intravitreal injections as part of comprehensive care of medical retina conditions such as:

  • Macula degeneration
  • Diabetic retinopathy
  • Retinal vascular diseases.

Laser treatments for medical retinal conditions as well as YAG laser treatments.

Dr Dunne loves to get outdoors when possible and is a keen fisherman as well as taking an interest in amateur paleontology.
