What causes cataracts?
A lot of people ask what causes cataracts and the main answer is, it’s simply down to age! As we get older, with each birthday leading to aging of the eye, that’s when the likelihood of cataracts rearing its ugly head increases.
On average, when people get into their early 70s, they’ll start to notice a change in their vision related to cataract development.
That said, there are other causes of cataracts, this includes diabetes as well as taking certain medications such as steroids, or trauma, that can lead to the development of cataracts earlier than others.
