See a brighter future at Eye Institute
If your glasses aren’t cutting it anymore or you want better vision, there’s only one place to go: Eye Institute on the North Shore.

First sighted in Remuera in the early 1990s, Eye Institute has been helping Aucklander’s eyes for over 20 years – with 12 of them out on the North Shore, bringing quality service and care to help patients see a better future.

Recently moving to brand-new facilities in Northcote, the clinic’s services have only expanded with an operating theatre included onsite; allowing them to consult, diagnose and perform most eye surgeries in-house.

From cataract treatments to retina surgery, treatments for dry or droopy eyes and more, Eye Institute offer a full range of eye services with the friendly team guiding you every step of the way.

One of five experienced eye doctors at the clinic, Dr Adam Watson says it’s amazing how it just takes a very short procedure to impact a person’s whole life for the better.

“The best thing about my job is the ability to change people’s lives in a very short time – to make a terrific improvement to how people live their life.”

Having just come from a refractive lens exchange surgery, he can give a personal example of changing a patient’s life: not only do they no longer need glasses for driving, they can even read without eyewear – giving them freedom to live life to the fullest.

While many people can be anxious about having eye surgery, Dr Watson adds that the vast majority find afterwards they had no need to be worried.

“I’d encourage people not to be worried or concerned about the process – it’s a lot easier and more pleasant than they’d think,” he says.

“We have a great team of people here and we do everything we can to make it a good experience for the patient.”

Located at 3 Akoranga Drive, Northcote, see Eye Institute for all your eye needs, including cataract treatment, refractive lens exchange and more. There’s plenty of parking onsite and great coffee while you wait!
