  • Undergraduate studies at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg.
  • Institute for Aviation Medicine during military service 1989/90.
  • Speciality training at Hillbrow Hospital and St John Eye Hospital,Baragwanath, Soweto.
  • Moved to New Zealand in 1997.
  • Worked at Whangarei Hospital full time at first, then part-time for 23 years. I ran a weekly paediatric eye clinic and was responsible for
    screening premature babies in the special care baby unit.
  • In 2005 I built a day-stay surgical centre with my late colleague Dr Geoff Wallace. Geoff sadly passed away in 2007.
I’ve always enjoyed personal fitness be it cycling, running, swimming or hiking. I’ve been a member of the same gym for over 25 years.

I am a keen photographer and use my hobby as an excuse to visit beautiful places both at home and abroad.
