Concierge

Our concierge team is responsible for creating memorable first impressions, greeting patients, their families, visitors and contractors. They deliver VIP standards of service with a warm, caring smile to:

They also assist other departments with administrative work as required.

 

Customer Experience Consultants:

Our Customer Experience Consultants provide information, assistance and an exceptional customer experience to:

They are responsible for managing general website enquiries, chat box and telephone enquiries from our four different phone lines:

•  General 

•  Laser

•  Cataract 

•  Mandarin  

Our customer experience consultants create an important first impression by providing high quality information on all our services and by managing related administration.

Marketing Team

Our Marketing team is responsible for developing and implementing end-to-end marketing strategies to grow and develop Eye Institute’s service delivery.   The team`s role is to oversee and coordinate all marketing and communications for Eye Institute across multi-media channels digitally, via our website, advertising and print, including promotional and educational activities and events throughout the country.The team provides information about our services to our new, existing and potential patients and referrers and is responsible for:

  •  Digital Transformation 

  •  Social Media and Content

  •  Events Management

  •  General Marketing      

Optometrists and Ophthalmic Technicians 

Our optometrists and technicians support the work of our ophthalmologists in delivering excellent standards of customer service and care to patients undergoing ophthalmic consultation, diagnostic tests and/or surgery. This involves:

  •  Taking patient histories

  •  Performing diagnostic tests 

  •  Preparing patients to see the doctor

They also provide appropriate and independent patient care within their experience and scope of practice in addition to providing co-management of conditions under the supervision of our ophthalmologists. Our optometrists work as part of a team with strong professional support networks.

Medical Secretaries:

Medical secretaries are a vital part of our frontline team and are responsible for delivering optimum standards of service to patients undergoing ophthalmic consultation and/or surgery. This involves: 

•  Booking and rescheduling patient appointments

•  Managing administrative work

•  Accurate data entry on our Patient Management System

•  Working alongside doctors, optometrists, technicians, and theatre staff to ensure patients are at ease throughout their journey with us

•  Liaising with insurance providers to seek prior approvals where applicable

•  Liaising with anesthetists regarding surgical bookings

Theatre Team 

Our registered Perioperative nurses are part of a multidisciplinary team delivering optimum standards of patient care pre-operatively, in the operating theatre suite, and post-operatively.

This involves:

  •  Reviewing and preparing all of the pre-operative paperwork such as patient consent forms, medical history, allergies and health questionnaires, comforting and preparing patients prior to theatre admission

  •  Providing assistance to the ophthalmologists during surgery

  •  Assisting patients post-operatively with their recovery and ensuring they are fit to be discharged following their procedure  

Sterilising technicians are responsible for checking, sterilising instruments, and providing all supplies to ensure that the scrub nurse and surgeon have all the instruments and medical supplies they need for each procedure. 

Our Inventory Coordinator is responsible for purchasing, receiving and distributing of all the relevant medical supplies.

Optometrist for Surgical Refractive Ophthalmologist

Take the opportunity to join Eye Institute and work with one of New Zealand’s foremost refractive cataract and laser surgeons. 

In this exciting role you will be working alongside an experienced ophthalmologist and his team including a refractive technician coordinator and two other optometrists. 

The duties will involve: 

  • Pre-operative assessments of cataract and refractive laser suitability
  • Post-operative assessment and follow up co-management
  • Explaining surgical options and processes to patients
  • Planning and preparing surgical list requirements
  • Triaging patients and referrals 
  • Performing and interpreting tests using the latest technology

 

You may be required to work independently at times as well as with the support of the entire clinical team at Eye Institute. Full upskill training and mentorship will be provided.

Medical Secretary

Our administration staff in Remuera provide support for all doctors in the practice. As such no two days will be the same…

This is a diverse and busy role where you will be required to:

  • Be responsible for all patient bookings, invoicing and billing.
  • Liaise with and arrange bookings for anaesthetists and technicians.
  • Provide accurate and reliable information via email and general phone enquiries.
  • Process referrals and collate patient information.
  • Manage patient files and scan records.
  • Be a team player.

Qualities we are seeking:

  • Someone that can deliver exceptional customer service and care to our patients and referrers.
  • Excellent spoken English skills.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Someone that is sociable, approachable, and that enjoys interacting with our patients, and the wider departments of our business. 
  • At least 1 year of previous medical secretary or reception experience would be an advantage.

Concierge Administrator

This is a front of house role and you will be the first point of contact for our patients on arrival at your desk. 

Duties will involve:
